Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at foodservicesafetyclasses@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

There are many benefits to training: increased business growth, less employee turnover, and increased overall customer satisfaction.

All restaurants, grocery store, convenience market, delicatessen, hot food truck, refreshment stands daycares and commissaries that prepare or serve unpackaged food must have an owner, manager or an employee who has passed an approved food manager certification program.

This varies by state and county. For example, in California, the health department will give you 60 days to get certified. At Food Safety Service Classes, we will take every measure to have your exam processed and certificate sent to you same day with online exams and with printed exams, within 2 weeks of your testing date.

The majority of food establishments incur violations due to time and temperature abuse such as leaving food out at room temperature or not having the refrigerator at a low enough setting. Premier Food Safety offers training that meets and exceeds food safety guidelines. Check resources tab for more information.

If your establishment has 10 or more employees and is located over 100 miles from the DMV area, and you need services from Food Service Safety Classes, fill out the contact form. Starting March 1, 2023, most food establishments must have at least one employee with a CFPM certificate. The CFPM can cover multiple locations and doesn't always need to be present but a valid certificate must be available during inspections.

ServSafe® Alcohol Certificates are recognized by the National Restaurant Association for a three-year period. State and employer requirements, on the other hand, might differ. Check the regulation requirements or contact your local health department for further information.

Upon purchasing an exam, a unique Test Access Code enables online exam access. The code remains valid until completion of the state-specific question. Once started, the ServSafe® Alcohol Exam invalidates the code. Failing the exam requires purchasing a new Exam Access Code.

  •  The ServSafe® Alcohol Primary Exam has a passing score of 75%. This is gained by properly answering at least 30 of the 40 questions.
  • The ServSafe® Alcohol Advanced, Proctored Exam requires an 80 percent or better score to pass. This is attained by properly answering at least 56 of the 70 questions.

Upon completing the ServSafe® Alcohol exams, results are typically uploaded to ServSafe.com within 3-4 business days for the Print Exams, within one business day for the Advanced Proctored Alcohol Online Exam, and immediately for the Primary Online Exam. Results can be checked online or requested through approved distributors like instructors, proctors, or company sponsors.
